Dental Prophylaxis

Prophylaxis is a dental procedure whose main goal is to clean surfaces by removing dental plaque or calcified plaque that is attached and accumulated in areas of the teeth that are not normally accessible to tooth brushing. The calcified plaque accumulated over long periods of time is a source of bacteria and other microorganisms that cause gum disease and periodontal tissues, whose ultimate consequences are bleeding gums, mobility of teeth, bad breath and infections.

Remember that the mouth is a gateway to the body and many general health problems can start from there, so it is very important to keep it healthy and in conditions of good hygiene.

Prophylaxis is recommended at least every six months.
